Dear Parents and Guardians:
Religious Education Registration will begin February 3, 2025
As you have heard, Confirmation age will be shifting from 11th to 7th grade. That means our Religious Education will shift as well.
To accommodate this process and better prepare all students to receive this Sacrament the following changes will be effective for the Summer Religious Education Program for 2025.
Kindergarten- 9th grade will still attend Religious Education June 9th –20th Monday-Friday, from 8am-12pm. They will still have lunch with their days like normal.
10th and 11th grade will attend from 6pm-8pm, June 9-12 and June 16-19. They will have a snack, but no meals will be provided for this session.
Attendance is mandatory for all grade levels in Religious Education. The Homeschool Program is no longer an option for Religious Education for any grade level. As we prepare our youth for the Sacrament of Confirmation, we believe that being present for this time is the best thing for them. While we understand that this may be a sacrifice for some, we know that it is of great value.
The Confirmation Schedule is as follows:
Fall of 2025- 11th and 10th Grade will Confirm (current 10th and 9th graders)
Spring of 2026- 9th and 8th Grade will Confirm (current 8th and 7th graders)
Spring of 2027- 8th and 7th Grade will Confirm (current 6th and 5th graders)
We will then be where the Bishop would like us to be and will continue with just 7th graders after that.
*Sacramental Fees for Confirmation will be due at the time you register for Religious Education. Students confirming in 2025 or 2026 Must pay this $40 fee.
FAQ:
Will there be more than one session for children who can’t make it at that time?
Unfortunately we only offer one session over the summer. If you cannot attend the dates given, you would need to attend Religious Education at a surrounding parish to catch up.
What grade do I sign my child up for? The grade they’re in now or the grade they will be in?
Whatever grade your child will be in the fall, is the grade they will be in for summer religion.
