The devotion of the nine First Fridays was requested by Our Lord Himself in the revelations He made regarding His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a nun of the Visitation Order who lived in France in the 17th century. The particular intention of the First Friday devotions is to offer reparation for the innumerable offenses committed against the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Twelve Promises are granted to those who meet the following requirements for the First Friday Devotion for nine consecutive months:
St Joseph the Worker celebrates First Friday devotions as follows:
Holy Hour of Reparation in the Adoration Chapel from 6:30AM- 7:00AM (not required)
Sacramental Confession- 7:00AM-7:25AM (required to receive graces within 8 days before or after First Friday)
Holy Mass and Communion- 7:30AM (required to receive graces)
Holy Rosary of Reparation-8:00AM-8:45AM (not required)
